energy balls

These healthy energy balls are so yummy! They’re made with only 5 healthy ingredients and they are so easy to make! Watch the video below and…you tell me!

DIABETIC DIET TIP

These healthy energy balls have a high carbohydrate content because of the oats and the chocolate chips. Thanks to the almond butter and the flaxseed meal, there is also a healthy fat content. The only macronutrient lacking here is the protein one…so you can for sure add protein powder to the balls or eat them together with another protein source like protein shake or yogurt.

Keep in mind that even though the healthy fats will avoid sugar spikes of the oats and chocolate, it may happen. This depends on you physical activity level and how well you absorb the nutrients in general. So like with everything, try and see! JJ had a great reaction to them, no sugar spikes at all, but of course our physical activity level is high!

Do you exercise or are you a sedentary person? We will make a post about DIABETES and PHYSICAL ACTIVITY soon on the DIABETES section. Stay tuned!
